First, Dr. Polt discovered the house of her dreams in the state of Louisiana.  Then it was Fitzgerald Architecture Studio that helped make that dream house a reality right here in the Garden State.  We were contracted to expand the one-and-a-half story ranch house to include a full basement, and tailor the plans to fit the client’s needs, while making necessary alterations to accommodate the New Jersey location.
 

The client’s deliberate choice to build a smaller home was driven by the desire to have her new residence maintain high standards of quality in both construction and materials. Fitzgerald not only worked closely with Dr. Polt, but also with several local contractors during the bidding and construction administration phases. This allowed the project to maintain its modest budget, achieve its aesthetic goals and be completed in a timely manner.  The successful result was a modest but architecturally distinctive home that is well detailed and features a standing-seam metal roof and an entry illuminated by the glow of an ornamental gas lamp.
